Email support checklist

I can't receive emails

1. Check that it's an email account that we have provided for you, the address will be something @yourdomain.co.uk if it is.

2. Check that your internet connection is working by trying to look at a website, if it isn't, then you need to contact your ISP (BT, Tiscali, Virgin etc.).

3. Check that your settings are correct in Outlook (we will have sent you the details for any email accounts that you have with us when we set them up).  If you've lost them or don't have them, please log in to your account via the Web-feet.co.uk home page to get them, or request a reminder.

4. Try logging into your webmail, if that is working then the mailbox is ok, but you can't connect to it using Outlook. Hit send/receive in Outlook and make a note of any error messages that come up (if any).

5. If you can't log in to webmail, try re-setting the password using your control panel if you have one (it can take up to 30 minutes for the change to take effect).

6. Delete the email account in your Outlook email accounts, close down Outlook, re-open it and set up the account from scratch. Try send/receive again.

7. If none of the above help, then send us a support request, including any error messages and the fact that you have gone through this checklist.

I can't send emails

3. Check whether you are using our outgoing mail server (SMTP in your Outlook email account settings) or the one provided by your ISP.  If it's ours, it will be smtp.yourdomain.co.uk or smtp.webfeethosting.co.uk. If it's the one provided by your ISP then you need to contact them.

4. Check that your settings are correct in Outlook (we will have sent you the details for any email accounts that you have with us when we set them up).  If you've lost them or don't have them, please log in to your account via the Web-feet.co.uk home page to get them, or request a reminder. Our SMTP servers require authentication, so make sure that you have gone into the advanced options on the email account and set up the authentication.  See our user guide How to add an email account to Microsoft Outlook 2003.

5. Try logging into your webmail and sending a message, make a note of any error messages that come up (if any).

6. If none of the above help, then send us a support request, including any error messages and the fact that you have gone through this checklist.
